I don't know...

...why I am holding on so dearly to the Colorado Summer. Well, I do know: I don't want it to go away. But its not really waning you know. We're just in the middle of it. Just this week:

Wednesday: Denver Cruisers, Beach Night. I didnt do a head count, but I think it was the biggest Cruise yet - over 200 people. And of course since we were wearing our best beach attire, we had a pool party at the Ramada on Colfax. Hilarity ensued.

Thursday: Kickball. The Little Lebowski's Urban Acheivers scored 18 runs in one inning. Bueno was the first girl to every kick a homerun in the entirety of Kickball History, and I was the first Mycoskie to ever slide into second headfirst and completely sweep the legs out from underneath a little blonde chick. Dont step on the tracks when the train is coming through...

Friday: Lots of stuff. But some of that stuff included drinking beer at the Great Divide (http://www.greatdivide.com/), riding bikes, and stuff.

Saturday: The ever-popular Moonlight Classic Bike Race (http://www.moonlight-classic.com/) started at 11:30pm at the Capitol Building. Its a 15 mile bike race through the fair city of Denver that required head and tail lights. Its a fast competition that loops around the city and ends back at the Capitol. Unless you are in the back. Or poaching. Or both. We may/may not have registered and paid the entry fee. We may/may not have started at the Thin Man on 17th, a little less than a mile after the starting gate. We may/may not have had personal beverages throughout the ride. We may/may not have quit just a few miles down the road with 100 other people at the Campus Lounge. The good news is that my friend Bobby moved to town recently and he had never eaten at Pete's Kitchen late-night, and he got to experience this wonder.

Sunday: Mile High Music Festival (http://milehighmusicfestival.com/), which was both Saturday and Sunday - but I skipped Saturday. Not a bad lineup - went with Yvonne Bueno and got to see Brett Dennan, Martin Sexton, Rodrigo y Gabriella, the Flobots, Colbie Caillat, the Black Crowes, the Roots, and the Dave Matthews Band (w/ Tim Reynolds). Oh yeah, and there was a special appearance by Noah, you know, the Ark guy. We also got to see lots of hippie girls in hippie skirts...Yvonne didnt care much, but she put up with me talking about them all day.

Monday: Now I have to work. Im thinking of retiring.
